How to Use FogSwap

FogSwap makes cross-chain swapping simple and private. Follow these steps to complete your first swap:

Step 1: Choose Your Swap

  1. Select Source Token: Choose the token you want to send (e.g., ETH)
  2. Select Destination Token: Choose the token you want to receive (e.g., BTC)
  3. Pick Your Mode:
    • Standard - Fast swaps (0-3 minutes), lower fees, basic privacy
    • Private - Anonymous swaps (5-15 minutes), two-hop routing for enhanced privacy
    • Private with XMR - Maximum privacy (10-40 minutes), includes Monero routing with ring signatures

Step 2: Enter Details

  1. Enter Amount: Specify how much you want to swap
  2. Destination Address: Enter the wallet address where you want to receive tokens
    • Can be your own wallet or someone else's
    • Double-check this address carefully!
  3. Review Quote: Check the estimated output, fees, and completion time

Step 3: Complete the Swap

  1. Get Deposit Address: Copy the unique deposit address we generate for your transaction
  2. Send Funds: Transfer the exact amount to this address from any wallet
  3. Important Notes:
    • Only send the specified token type
    • Send the amount shown in the quote (±5% is acceptable)
    • Send from your personal wallet (not exchange accounts)

Step 4: Track Your Order

  1. Save Order ID: Keep your Order ID for tracking and support
  2. Monitor Progress: Use our transaction search to check status
  3. Get Help: Contact support with your Order ID if needed

Supported Swap Types

Same-Chain Swaps

  • Example: ETH → USDC (both on Ethereum)
  • Speed: 3-5 minutes (Standard) / 20-40 minutes (Private)
  • Use Case: Token exchanges within the same blockchain

Cross-Chain Swaps

  • Example: ETH → BTC (Ethereum to Bitcoin)
  • Speed: 5-15 minutes (Standard) / 20-40 minutes (Private)
  • Use Case: Moving value between different blockchains

Send to Others

  • Feature: Send tokens directly to someone else's wallet
  • Privacy: Recipient doesn't see your original address (Private mode)
  • Use Case: Anonymous payments, gifts, business transactions
